Instrumental lessons are on Thursdays and Fridays. A timetable is available from your class teacher. Just as has been the practice in the past, the new timetable will rotate lessons on a weekly basis so students do not miss the same class every week. Please make sure students bring their instrument and music tutor book on the day of their lesson.
The Instrumental Programme at St Andrews Catholic School is guided by a belief in the following principles:
The school band members compete in the Catholic Schools Music Festival each year.
All students in Year 3-6 have the opportunity to join the St Andrew's Strings Program. Students can learn the violin, viola, cello or guitar. Students are required to attend a 1/2 hour lesson once a week, as well as an ensemble rehearsal once per week.
The program currently has over 60 students and is run by Mrs Annette Milliken

At Andrew's has a Junior Choir and a Senior Choir. The school choirs rehearse of a morning before school with Mrs Petra Sitsky who is our school specialist Music teacher. The Junior Choir consists of students form Year 1-3 and the Senior Choir from Year 4-6. At times, the choirs are called on to lead school masses or other liturgies throughout the year. The choirs also compete at the Catholic Schools Music Festival held in Brisbane each year.
